CDT Presets for Simple Difficulty Tweaks

If you find that defeating a dragon in New Game+ feels like swatting a fly—ridiculously easy for a fight against such a mighty creature

—then you might want to crank up the difficulty a bit.

I’ve always loved the built-in difficulty presets of Custom Difficulty Tweaks (CDT), but its author stopped updating it a long time ago.

Simple Difficulty Tweaks (SDT) is newer, simpler and more convenient to use, yet I really missed those classic CDT difficulty presets.

So I referenced CDT’s difficulty presets and combined them with some new features from SDT — and this is the result.

Installation

REFramework is required.

Fluffy Mod Manager

• []Install REFramework,Fluffy Mod Managerand  and Simple Difficulty Tweaks

  []Download this mod

  []Launch Fluffy Mod Manager, go to the Mod List, and drag this mod’s .zip file directly into the mod list.

  []Enable "CDT Presets for Simple Difficulty Tweaks"

  []Start the game

  Without Fluffy Mod Manager

  • []Install REFramework,Fluffy Mod Managerand  and Simple Difficulty Tweaks

    []Download this mod

    []Extract the contents of the .zip file

    []Inside the zip file, find an "reframework" folder

    []Drag this folder into your steamapps\common\Dragons Dogma 2 folder (your OS may notify you that there is already an existing "reframework" folder; that's fine, you're going to merge them)

    []Start the game

  Default presets

  After installing the mod for the first time, you may need to manually select your preferred preset in the menu:

  REFramework → Script Generated UI → Simple Difficulty Tweaks.

  The mod comes included with several difficulty presets that you can try out if you don't want to mess with sliders. Here's a quick summary of each preset (there may be other changes beyond those listed).

  • []0. Easy (Capcom default)

   This is vanilla difficulty.
  • []1. Normal

   Player damage taken 1. 33x. Boss damage taken 0. 5x. Regular Enemy stagger rate 0. 5x. Exp 0. 4x.
  • []2. Hard

   Player damage taken 1. 5x. Boss damage taken 0. 4x. Regular Enemy stagger rate 0. 33x. Boss stagger rate 0. 5x. Exp 0. 33x.
  • 3. Very Hard

   Player damage taken 2. 1x. Boss damage taken 0. 25x. Regular Enemy stagger rate 0. 33x. Exp 0. 25x. Curative tweaks enabled.

  This is close to what I've been using, gradually increasing it towards Nightmare as I slowly progress through the game.
