📋 About This Mod
Texture upgrades and edits of a DA2 armor ported to DAO by Loincloth Fashion (required)
In DA2 it's called the "Stonehammer's Gift" armor. In DA:O, it is ported by Loincloth Fashion (requirement) and called "Armor of the Fallen Disciple"
INSTALLATION:
1. put zzz_Fallen Disciple folder in \BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override
2. read the README file(s) before you ask for help or clarificatiion (because there's already a lot of both inside)
ABOUT: This mod began as a single texture edit. Then I decided to do more........ a lot more.
Multiple different designs, every set has a name (which I made up, except for the OG Stonehammer's Gift)
Every design is modular! With FIVE tiers:
bare/lightest: every possible piece is removed (there are visible flaws)
"light": only a few pieces kept, minimal but functional (still visible flaws)
"medium": enough armor to cover all the gaps and unfinished bits of the vanilla art
"heavy": most of the armor, just hooks and foils removed, and no 3D rings or laces
full/"massive": nothing removed
First, for the purists:
Stonehammer's Gift: 1-2K and 2-4K versions of the original textures, no huesat/levels edits or anything novel. Just some crackin' upscales (technically I spliced together multiple upscales per each texture, so you won't get upscales like these anywhere else). I did every single map - diffuse, spec, env, normals (x and y channels separately, too). This is as faithful to the original artwork as possible while massively increasing the resolution. I tried really hard not to allow ANY bad hallucinations through. HMU if you spy something
Armor of Nature's Reflection: The original edit (v1. 0) for this mod. Metal which I headcanon as dwemer - warmer brown, copper, brass(tarnished and polished) and silver base tones, with cooler, brighter blue and platinum specular tones, and a warm 'glow' to it (not glowmap; combination spec/env effect). Black leather. Quilted fabric looks teal, mint, or ice blue depending on environment. Brass(polished) rings. Looks good on Sten. Like a tree that you don't want to piss off (or on xD)
All the "new" designs have custom envmasks re-generated from specular (more detailed+accurate than upscaling and editing the orig envmask) and custom normal maps which I don't want to get into right now but they're worth it.
More on the way...
OPTIONAL FILES:
armor removal: pretty self explanatory but you NEED these if you want less than "Massive" (the alternate textures in the main mod aren't enough to do anything alone, see the README)
PSDs - diffuse, transparency: modder's resource, high-compatibility PSDs (GIMP, paint. NET etc.) which contain all the masks for every part of the armor (maybe i missed a thing or two, lmk) plus the transparency masks. Everything la
