📋 About This Mod
Nightmare difficulty without friendly fire damage or auxiliary effects (brittle, staggered, etc.). Achieved by making the difficulty of the \"Hard\" level to be higher (identical to Nightmare).
I had made this for my personal use, but am posting it here on request. This mod is intended for those who wish to experience the tougher enemies of the Nightmare difficulty, without bothering with the friendly fire damage and auxiliary effects. Dragon Age 2 has friendly fire hard-coded into the Nightmare difficulty (and Nightmare difficulty only). So, while it is possible to mod the Nightmare difficulty to remove the friendly fire damage, the auxiliary effects such as brittle, stun and staggered still remain. My solution to this issue was to mod one of the other difficulty levels (I chose the Hard difficulty), and make its relevant values identical to those of the Nightmare difficulty. The hard-coded behavior in the engine then ensures that the modded difficulty level has no friendly fire (damage or effects). Just to reiterate, this mod changes the HARD difficulty in the game to be as difficult as the Nightmare difficulty, only without any friendly fire. INSTALLATION Copy the difficulty_nmhard.gda file to your Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\packages\\core\\override folder. USAGE Select the \"Hard\" difficulty in the game options. UNINSTALL Remove the GDA file from the override folder.
