📋 About This Mod
Removes most cinematics during gameplay that take control away from the player - see description for details
No Camera Cinematics
I don't like when control is taken from the player during gameplay, and so this mod aims to remove those parts, e.g. camera cinematics that show you what the button you just pressed did
This mod does not remove:
Enemy introduction cinematics, e.g. Hell Knight, Buzzsaw, Archvile
Story telling cinematics, e.g. start and end of level cinematics, some voiceovers
Specifics
Specifically, this mod removes:
[]Village of Khalim
Removes the forced camera moments around the gauntlet pod, the blue-door portal reveal, the four collapsing portals, the completion of the portal objective, and the beach objective reveal.
[]Hebeth
Removes the establishing camera shot near the bridge and titans.
[]Siege – Part 1
Removes the camera sequences when arriving to the cultist caves
[]Abyssal Forest
Removes the forced camera view of the door when blowing it up with the turret.
[]Ancestral Forge
Removes the post-interaction camera sequences from all three Ancestral Heart switches
[]Hellbreaker
Removes gameplay camera cinematics connected with the fortress turrets and power-core/temple reveals.
[]Spire of Nerathul
Removes the camera sequences after using the large purple cosmic buttons and opening the drain gate.
[]City of Ry’uul
Removes the lengthy establishing camera sequence when entering the city.
[]The Kar’Thul Marshes
Removes the forced camera view of the swamp exit doors opening.
[]Temple of Lomarith
[]Belly of the Beast
Removes the camera establishing shot of the first arena and the cameras after pressing the organ buttons.
[]Harbor of Souls
Removes the camera sequence that shows the blood well filling at the beginning of the level.
[]Resurrection
Removes cameras for destroying the towers, blue key cage reveal and puzzle cave gate opening
[]Reckoning
Removes the forced camera sequence associated with placing the shield and opening the monastery puzzle doors.
[]Proving Grounds
Removes the forced look toward the crate elevator and door after pulling the relevant lever.
[]Osseus
Removes the forced camera shot of the exit door at the end of the final fight.
Sequences I decided to leave in:
Dragon landing camera cinematics:
I was able to remove the cinematic and retain the animation, but there is a visual glitch when the dragon lands - this is hidden by the camera cinematics. Since it didn't look great, I left them in.
Serf dying in Siege Part 2
Same as dragon landing. I was able to remove it but there was a glitch with the animation which I am not able to fix.
Purgatory "This is your pain given shape"
The establishing shot when you first get into Purgatory.
Without this cinematic, the encounter begins immediately ... I felt the sequence with the camera was better than without but I might change my mind about this later.
