😈 Brutal Dark Ages 💀
Brutal Dark Ages is a comprehensive combat-effects overhaul for Doom: The Dark Ages, reworking 400+ effect files to make combat more brutal, impactful and satisfying. 🩸🔥
The mod reworks a huge range of combat effects, including:

]Gibs, full-body gibbing and glory-kill gore[/][
]Weapon impacts, shield and melee effects[/][
]Spear visual and audio effects[/][
]Demon attacks, projectiles and lighting[/][

Some effects are made bigger or more violent, some are toned down where they are too distracting, and others have been completely redesigned from scratch.
🩸 Two Versions
Brutal Dark Ages is the main version and represents how I intend the mod to look.
Brutal Dark Ages – More Blood is an alternative version with larger, denser and more concentrated blood bursts, along with slightly larger and more numerous gibs.
The philosophy behind this version is simple: obviously too much blood.
Both versions are individually curated and tested. Use only one version at a time.

The Brutal Dark Ages Customiser is also available as a self-contained HTML tool, allowing you to create your own customised version of either edition.

Mod customisation 🪛
Restore the chainbolt chain:
Brutal Dark Ages removes the chain for the chainbolt. If you want to bring the chain back, follow these instructions:
1) Unzip the zip file
2) Go to rs_streamfile\generated\decls\particle\weapons\reanimator
3) Delete 'reanimator_chain.decl'
4) Zip the folders up again like they were before
