Mod Status - Fully functional on the latest version of DOOM Eternal (Update 6. 66 Rev. 2)

Description

Despite multiple major game updates improving the problem, projectile collision and Blood Punch hit registration issues pertaining to dead AI ragdolls still exist in the game. This mod aims to alleviate these problems by having ragdolls get yeeted into space when they are created.

This technically doesn't "fix" the hit registration issues, only eliminates the obstacles that cause them. Ragdolls created by glory kills aren't affected, and you may still encounter ragdolls blocking hits in tight hallways where they can't be properly propelled out of your way.

If you seriously enjoy using Blood Punch and don't mind a bit of (amusing) visual jank, I highly recommend trying this mod.

Better Solution

pertaining to AI ragdolls and gore still exist in the game. To eliminate the overwhelming majority of these issues, use the following pair of commands:

ai_death_FadeDelay 0

ai_death_disableRagdollAfterBurnSeconds 0

Important considerations when using these commands:

1. You must execute these commands each time you launch the game, or insert them into a .cfg file that auto-executes on game launch.

2. These commands break explosive zombies - they will always explode in-place and cannot fly horizontally based on the direction you shot them from. If an encounter (in vanilla or modded levels) relies heavily on explosive zombies, you might consider reverting these commands for the duration of that encounter. However, I believe the benefits of these commands far outweigh this negative effect.
