Hey 2025 people! Been awhile, life stuff. Anyway with the new DMC3 CRIMSON MOD releasing I thought I'd get the preset to working condition and make an option for lower end PCs too.

Now this Reshade is intended for DMC3 only. But you can go ahead and make one for the other 2 games if you want.

I split them up into 2 versions. You can download both to test if your PC can handle it. Since they are 2 different named presets: (Low) Is the best I can do for ya strugglers out there. Uses half the shaders the normal one has, without losing the intent of the mod. (High) is the normal one.

Put up a a few IMAGES so you can tell the difference between the Vanilla and 2 presets.

IF YOU ALREADY HAD MY MOD PREVIOUSLY. DELETE MY OLD PRESET AND REINSTALL RESHADE

INSALLATION GUIDE: 

1. Download ReShade from the ReShade web site. (Get the the one that says "full add-on support")

2. Install Reshade, Go to Browse and Locate the DMC HD collection. CLICK on the "dmcLauncher" NOT the exe of dmc3.exe. (it won't work otherwise)

3. When it asks "API" click on DirectX10/11.

4. Check mark all the shaders. DO NOT CHECKMARK anything on the Second TAB

5. Open the my mod and extract it with 7zip or Winrar. And just dropped the extracted file into the HDC folder.

6. Boot up the game and open Reshade using the "Home" key. Either skip or continue the tutorial on the Reshade tab. At the top are arrows and just find my preset.

QoL Shortcuts:

Open up the Reshade tab, go to Settings. where it says Effect Toggle Key. Just set a key bind so you can turn presets Off/On.

CRMINSON MOD USERS: The mod makes Reshade have a big delay. Opening the ReShade menu, making changes or even choosing presets will be effected. Nothing I can do, I reccommend doing any and all tweaking before installing the Crimson Mod. And enabling your Preset at HDC menu before starting DMC3 if Crimson is Installed.

OLD TEXT:Light sources like the sun being blocked by the shifting clouds on mission 3 will cast varying degrees of dim to brighter lights seamlessly. This will look very subtle and won't be distracting (hopefully). I've increased shadows abit and gave light sources a casting area as well since Reshade comes with these neat little features.

Colors on the other hand are now more noticeable and makes clothing looks more like the desired fabric the Devs were going for. Of course I did not go over board and wanted a HD-ish appeal like the colors used in the Dmc4 Pachinko trailers.

I've also increased the line work slightly so the seams on Dante's jacket and stage areas aren't lost to the lighting/color changes.

This preset looks good if I do say so myself.

HOWEVER, the title screen is blindingly bright and will burn your retinas out if your in a dark room. I had lost my save data and my version of DDMK bugged mission 12, so I'm unable to progress. I have yet to test this out on missions after 12, since this is a reshade filter I won't be able to do much since it'll affect the rest of the missions too.

I suggest just tweaking the groundwork if that's the case.

(We need more DMC3 mods honestly)
