New Londo Ruins Humanity Drop Bugfix

This mod fixes a bug/oversight that prevents the humanity drop system from functioning in New Londo Ruins.

Note that humanity drop shares the same area requirements as multiplayer, so you need to drain New Londo before it is enabled.

This is either an intentional decision by the developers, or at least a side effect of how they set it up (this applies to some other areas as well)

If you don't know what the humanity drop system is, I don't really blame you.

The short answer is that when you kill certain enemies, you gain "points", and when you reach a specific amount, you gain a soft

humanity. The boss of an area needs to be alive for this to work.

If you've ever noticed that you seemed to "randomly" get soft humanity sometimes, there's about a 99% chance that it was actually

this system.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS MOD ONLINE!!

The easiest "fix" for this bug requires changing what "multiplayer" areas New Londo Ruins is a part of (used for matchmaking, etc.)

Because of this, I would not be surprised if this mod gets you banned as you walk into New Londo and announce to the server that you're in an area that doesn't normally exist.

I have not tested this mod online, but if it doesn't ban you, you probably will not be able to play multiplayer in New Londo Ruins except with other players using this mod.

The NPC summon in New Londo still works fine with this mod.

INSTALLATIONIf you're using Mod Engine 2, its the same as installing any other mod, just drop it in wherever you want and add it to the config file

For manual installation, just drop folders directly in your "DARK SOULS REMASTERED" folder, and overwrite the vanilla game files (or back them up first).

  THE ISSUE

  The simple explanation for this issue of humanity drop not working is that there isn't really a bug, but rather an oversight.

  Internally New Londo Ruins has 2 areas which could be used for a variety of things, including multiplayer.

  Area 1 is completely unused, and the boss assigned to it is the Four Kings.

  Area 2 contains all of New Londo Ruins, but has no boss ass
