Removes visual effects on the player when certain things are equipped, such as the green aura for the Chloranthy Ring. The is done by modifying the scripts for the items rather than removing textures, so there aren't any issues with unintended things becoming invisible.
Note: This mod is only compatible with the Scholar of the First Sin edition of the game.
1) Download and install the Load Loose Param Files mod.
2) Download this mod, extract the downloaded .zip archive, and open the folder of the extracted archive.
4) Move the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file to your game's installation directory (where DarkSoulsII.exe is), overwriting the original file.
You may want to make a backup of the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file and Param folder first, in case you want to uninstall the mod later.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved (590 endorsements) with a solid download count (13,826)
- Solves a real annoyance for fashion-conscious players who hate glowing auras
- Lightweight and focused—does exactly what it says without bloat
⚠️ Cons
- May not cover every visual effect—only mentions Chloranthy Ring specifically
- Could conflict with other mods that alter equipment visuals or shaders
- Niche appeal—if you don't mind the auras, this mod offers nothing for you
For Dark Souls II: SotFS players who care about fashion and want to remove distracting visual effects like the Chloranthy Ring's green aura. Skip if you're fine with the default look or want broader gameplay changes—this is purely cosmetic.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you're modding the Scholar of the First Sin edition, not the original Dark Souls II—this mod is specifically for SotFS.
- If you're using other visual mods, test this one first to see if it conflicts with any aura or shader changes.
- Since it's a simple file drop, keep a backup of your original game files in case you want to revert.
