📋 About This Mod
This is a balanced rework of all 8 classes that are present in SOTFS. Read the detailed description for an overview of the changes.
----------Overview----------
This is a mod which aims to overhaul the starting classes, providing a clean rebalance of the start of the game. instead of having all of the classes start at different levels, this mod re-worked the stat distribution and equipment balance to ensure that whatever class you chose was a result of playstyle preference, not what has the most stat points at the start of the game!
THIS MOD USES MOD ENGINE! THIS MEANS THERE IS NO REPLACING VANILLA FILES - IT'S A DRAG AND DROP INSTALL! READ THE README PROVIDED WITH THE ARCHIVE FOR MORE INFORMATION REGARDING INSTALLING AND UNINSTALLING THE MOD
Due to the nature of the mod, there aren't really any gameplay changes. However, each of these classes DOES change the way that you should play the game, hence the playstyle-oriented classes this time around.
----------Changes----------
This mod only changes the starting classes! There is no impact on early-mid, mid-game, mid-late and late-game gameplay! It is simply a rebalance of classes. The exact class changes can be seen in the images, so be sure to check them out!
Each class has been meticulously reworked and tested up to the Last Giant, with only 2 rests per class permitted - one halfway through the run, in the Cardinal Tower bonfire, and the second rest again at the Cardinal Tower Bonfire once the shortcut to the boss was unlocked. All of the classes had passed the test run without issues, so expect a clean balanced play, no matter the class!
Each class had been rewritten to have a clean 65 stat points - Soul Level 12 worth of points - in their various stats. I had taken into consideration the kind of class they were, as well as what the playstyle should be to ensure that no two classes had the same playstyle as each other! Along with this, I have nerfed the Deprived (now Prisoner) so instead of 6 points across the board, they come with 5 points across the board - a simple and clean 9-point debuff. Can you survive the new challenge?
----------Installation----------
The installation is a simple drag-drop scenario since I learned to use ModEngineDS2. the detailed instructions are located in the archive, in the readme file, so be sure to check that out! if you can't be bothered to read the instructions though:
- Extract the archive anywhere on your PC
- highlight all archival contents and either right click -> "copy" OR press CTRL+C to copy the files to your clipboard.
- Open your game's root folder. follow readme instructions if you're unsure on where your root folder is, I explain how to find the folder in that file.
- simply right click -> "paste" your files into the \Game folder, or CTRL+V (does the same thing)
- Run the game!
