📋 About This Mod

This mod has stopped maintenance.

Only tested on version 2. 13. The latest version may not work

Update: Now holding the shortcut key can trigger SafeAction animation on v0. 2. 0.

It looks like checking the weapon chamber to see if there is any bullets. But it only works on certain weapons, and cannot trigger when sprinting

This time, V triggers the FirstEquip animation every time the weapon is equipped, instead of probabilistically or cooltime.

The FirstEquip animation will be triggered every time the shortcut key is pressed, just like weapon inspection.

Although CP2077 can also achive this after updates, by holding the unsheathe button, but we have to sheathe the weapon first, and this is too bulky !!!

If you want to change the button:

1. go to "<Cyberpunk 2077>\r6\input" folder

2. open "WeaponInspection.xml" with any text editor

3. find and replace "IK_Y" with any other hotkey codes

Hotkeys reference list is available here

If you want to change the animation for ranged weapon:

1. go to "<Cyberpunk 2077>\r6\scripts\Weapon Inspection" folder

2. open "WeaponInspection.reds" with any text editor

3. find variable "ifOtherAnim" and change its value to true

4. find variable "animationName" and change its value to the animation you want

Update: Now holding the shortcut key can trigger SafeAction animation on v0. 2. 0.

It looks like checking the weapon chamber to see if there is any bullets. But it only works on certain weapons, and cannot trigger when sprinting

And this is an unfinished mod.

I am still unsatisfied with the animation

FirstEquip anim looks weird, especially for sword,

IdleBreak and SafeAction are too simple and cannot trigger when sprinting.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

A lightweight script mod that plays the first-equip animation every time you equip a weapon, even in combat or while sprinting. Designed as a simpler alternative to Always First Equip, but it conflicts with that mod and is only tested on game version 2.13. Author has stopped maintenance, so compatibility with newer versions is uncertain.

✨ Key Features

Triggers first-equip animation on every weapon equip, including in combat and sprinting.
Simpler alternative to Always First Equip with no complicated settings.
Conflicts with Always First Equip mod.
Only tested on game version 2.13; latest version may not work.
Author has stopped maintenance.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Simple and lightweight—no settings to fiddle with, just drop it in and go.
  • Works in combat and sprinting, so you get that cool animation even mid-fight.
  • Small but active community (89 endorsements) and decent download count (5.5k).

⚠️ Cons

  • Abandoned by the author—last updated November 2024, and they explicitly say it's stopped maintenance.
  • Only tested on version 2.13, so if you're on a newer patch, you're rolling the dice.
  • Directly conflicts with Always First Equip, so you have to pick one or the other.
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who want that satisfying first-equip animation every time they draw a weapon, without the complexity of Always First Equip. If you're on version 2.13 and don't mind an unmaintained mod, this is a solid pick. Skip if you're on the latest version or want ongoing support.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Check your game version before installing—this mod is only tested on 2.13, so if you're on a newer patch, expect potential issues.
  • If you're using Always First Equip, uninstall it first to avoid conflicts.
  • Since the mod is unmaintained, test it in a low-stakes area before relying on it in combat.
