How to force individual devices status and mute hidden sound emitters
The game uses multiple ways to generate sound in the world. It can use basic devices like radios and speakers. But for most of the ambient sounds it will use hidden emitters like for fires, cooking sounds of a barbecue, some music at rave parties, and so on.
In order to identify devices or these emitters you need to install Red Hot Tools which is a utility mod for CET that allows you to browse the game elements in real-time while playing. Make sure to install both files "RedHotTools-x.x.x.zip" and "RedHotTools-x.x.x-Overlay.zip" by unzipping them into the game folder. Once in the game you can open the CET overlay and then look for the "World Inspector" window.
How to force individual devices status
In this window you have multiple tabs. Use the Inspect tab to check entities around you by looking at them. By default the highlighting of entities will only be visible when the overlay is turned on which is annoying. To keep the highlighting at all time, you need to use the CET Bindings menu and to assign a key to the Red Hot Tools entry "World Inspector: Toggle overlay". Don't forget to save the settings before closing th
