📋 About This Mod

Unaware Executions

Turn your melee weapons into tools of silent assassination. This mod allows you to perform instant stealth takedowns on any enemy who is unaware of your presence — no grapple animation required.

This mod pairs well with another mod of mine, Melee Animation Randomizer. With it single melee attacks don't always play the same animation.

How to Play

This mod gives V a powerful new tool: melee attacks from stealth now take out enemies immediately. Bladed weapons kill, blunt weapons knock out. To balance that power, this new tool has been integrated into the stealth gameplay loop. The attacks are never 100% silent, use the grapple if you want silence. That's the trade off: the attacks are much faster, but nearby enemies will come check out the disturbance.

If you've done your recon, that's not too much of a problem: you'll see the tagged enemies coming. If you decided to play it by ear, however... Well, now you're gonna have to do just that: listen to enemy footsteps, check out corners and be careful when leaving the scene if people were around.

Since stealth attacks aren't silent and if someone's around they will come look, carrying bodies is now a necessary measure if you don't want the enemies on their toes. Hiding bodies you've knocked out keeps incoming enemies from finding anything and they'll just go on their merry way. Bodies you've killed, however, is different. You see, killing is messy: there's often blood and other bodily fluids involved and maybe even the odd dismembered limb lying around. Even if you carry the body away, there's no hiding the mess. If you kill someone with a stealth attack and someone heard you, you better stick around and finish what you started if you intend on remaining undetected. Running away doesn't help: investigations on lethal takedowns will raise the alarm if you try to game the system and despawn the NPC's by running away.

Base range for stealth attack detection is 20m and up to 3 NPC's can come looking. So be careful when slipping away in those early levels. These numbers can be reduced by improving your Shinobi skill. The stats are below. Oh, and at level 60 there's a 50% chance you don't make a sound; even if his buddy is right next to him.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since this mod affects melee takedowns, test it on a single-player world first to see how it interacts with zombie AI.
  • If you play on a multiplayer server, make sure the mod is installed on the server side as well, or it won't work.
  • Pair with a stealth perk build to maximize the effectiveness of the takedowns.
