I play as a netrunner and like to neutralize enemies through cameras and other devices. The game allows to intercept the control over turrets, but the enemies "kill" them almost instantly. Mod raises the health and armor stats for turrets to fix this. It also means that without cyberdeck or enough tech points you will have to strain a little to neutralize them.
