📋 About This Mod
Description
According to the in-game HUD, the rescue of Sandra Dorsett from the scav hideout takes place at about 1:30 in the afternoon. Sometime between handing her off to trauma team, and taking the elevator down to the garage, V and Jackie are hurtled catastrophically through time to 10:00 pm that evening.
For those who believe the scav hideout elevator is a cleverly disguised TARDIS, I wish you nothing but happiness.
For those who find this to be an immersion killing inconsistency - I made this mod!
The mod adjusts the following forced transitions, allowing the game's normal time and weather systems apply as usual:
-
[]The Rescue takes place at night (10:00pm, the same time as the drive back to V's apartment). Interior quest lighting has been changed to reflect this.[/]
[]Weather does not automatically become Sunny when meeting Meredith Stout.[/]
[]Time passes at the regular rate during The Pickup.[/]
[]Starting the nighttime meeting with Takemura and Oda at any time between 10pm and 4am will only skip time by 30 minutes (instead of the vanilla behavior of always skipping to the next 11pm).[/]
[]Gimme Danger: a rare time skip happens if Takemura calls V to meet up while V is already at the Japantown market. The vanilla jump cut always jumps straight to 2pm, this mod changes the jump to "15 minutes from now".[/]
[]Gimme Danger: removes the arbitrary foggy weather change and time jump to 4:50am that happens if V rides with Takemura to the Arasaka warehouse in Arroyo. The ride now takes 30 minutes and does not change the weather. Note: the rest of this quest's time/weather changes are much more narratively consistent, and are left untouched.[/]
Not compatible with (the excellent) ReLUX (The Rescue) by CyanideX, since both mods change the lighting nodes in this area. Unfortunately, you'll have to pick one or the other. Other ReLUX variants will work fine.
Not compatible with any mods that touch the same scene or questphase files that this mod does. Use Archive Conflict Checker Tool to confirm if you are unsure.
Specifically known to be partially incompatible with Longer Lockdown (you used the conflict checker tool, so you know this already, right?). If you want to use these mods together, you MUST give Longer Lockdown the priority, and you won't get time travel fixes for The Pickup.
Shout outs
A massive thanks to all the developers who build the worl
Time Travel Begone - Pedantic Correction removes the unrealistic time skips and weather transitions that occur during certain quests, such as the end of The Rescue. A small but appreciated visual fix for players who value narrative consistency.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny mod that fixes a real immersion breaker for story-focused players
- Lightweight and focused—does one thing and does it well
- Decent community support with 76 endorsements and 21k downloads
⚠️ Cons
- Only addresses specific quests—other time skips may remain
- Last updated May 2026—check compatibility with your current game version
For players who hate when the game fast-forwards time or snaps the weather to a different state mid-quest, especially during story moments. If you're a lore stickler or just want smoother transitions, this is a no-brainer. Skip if you don't notice or care about these skips.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to place the mod files in the correct game directory—check the mod's file structure if you're unsure.
- If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the installation to avoid conflicts.
- Test the affected quest (like The Rescue) to confirm the fix works as expected.
