I can feel it now - Edgelords the world over clutching their pearls at the mere thought of someone else's game being optionally customized just for themselves, to make it that much more comfortable for them to personally play and enjoy.

Description

Uses the wonderful, game-changing open source tool Monkeyplug: It scans a given audio/video file looking for curse words to filter using the automatic speech recognition tool known as Whisper (with surprising accuracy) and censors whatever profanity it detects. Don't expect absolute perfection yet but I'm confident the vast majority of the game's speech has been covered. A task like this would have been so utterly miserable—borderline impossible—without tools like these.

Limitations and Reports

Due to how this software currently works, it cannot be expected to hit every  instance of a swear word and only works for the English language. Just like we humans, it can be thrown off by slang/unique ways of speaking, heavy accents, or even entirely different languages (and music is another beast entirely.) It has to literally listen to each file and discern what is being said, comparing each word to a list of cuss words it has been given. And while thankfully most voice files have very clean and high quality audio, I have no doubt there are still some strays left in the wild.

Thus, If you encounter one of those uncaught vulgarities, I would very much appreciate a report on it so I can take care of it manually and refine my search methods. Any details you can give, such as:

  []The quest you may have been on

  []etc.

  ... Can help me narrow it down and take care of it quicker.

  Note regarding music:

  Songs that play on the radio are also notoriously tough for transcription software to listen through in order to catch the words being spoken. So while I tried to hit a few of the songs as an experiment, don't count on much there. Other forms of personal radio customization will still be needed.

  How to Install

  Like most mods, drop the included .archive file in the \archive\pc\mod\ folder under your game install directory. I also believe it is packaged correctly for Vortex to handle it.

  Compatibility

  To be honest with you, I'm new to mod development for this game. But if I'm understanding correctly then a mod of this type should only conflict with another mod if they were to touch the same files. I do not expect others to even enter the same ballpark of what this one does, and from what I've seen there currently are none. So as of right now I expect no issues with anything else.
