📋 About This Mod
A complete overhaul of the game's skill trees focused on freedom and interplay between skills and skill trees (wip)
Even after making Perks Apply To More and this mods previous incarnation, I've felt deeply restricted in my buildcraft. Naturally, I've done the only logical thing, went to the absolute extreme. I've revamped this project yet again to focus on total freedom and maximizing interplay between perks and skill trees.
The goals of this mod:
1. Total freedom
Perks (in trees I've updated so far)
- now apply to all weapons based on a melee/ranged breakdown. Some apply to all attacks of a specific kind (for example, to all bleed effects).
- only require their attribute to be levelled up. So no need to unlock prior perks or hold a specific weapon. Very few perks have been kept as augments for their previous milestone (the middle one). These still require that perk and only that perk to unlock.
- Finishers are now universal, you unlock melee finishers from the Reflexes tree and Savage Sling can now be used regardless of the held weapon (all bonuses for finishers apply to all finishers)
2. Identity
Many perks have been reworked to be most effective when used in specific ways based on their tree.
Cool: rewards deliberate and precise shots
Reflexes: buffs quick bursts and flanking strategies
Body: keeps. you. firing.
The melee trees are handled very similarly. All melee weapons gain benefits from all melee trees (atm only Body/Reflexes)
Body: gives you the strength and endurance to meet your enemies head on
Reflexes: provides the tools to dispatch your enemies with tactical strikes and bursts of movement
So, despite perk reworks, the target play style for these trees is meant to be very similar to vanilla. You just get more freedom and more chances to find fun (aka broken :D) builds.
3. Buildcrafting
Some perks have been reworked to benefit you more if you already have other perks, and the trees only provide specific bonuses. This way, you'll want to unlock and try out more perks and perk combinations than ever before!
This mod is under Development
All versions uploaded on Nexus are tested for playability and compatibility, however I haven't handled all perks yet.
Please make sure to refund all perk points before installing this mod or reset them by resetting your attributes (can be done infinitely with Reset Attributes always available) or resetting the perks individually via Simple Menu. Several perks have been moved or removed, and you can't individually refund perks that don't currently exist. (they will re-appear as unlocked upon uninst
