Permission Disclaimer
This mod is based on the "Hidden Gems Map", which is no longer available (the author deleted his mod and also his account).
Prior to the mod's deletion, I got the permission form the original author (Mad Cat MKII) to upload my adjusted version of his mod (without needing his mod as a dependency).
The author also asked me to get the permissions from the following mod authors:
- anygoodname -> gave permission (thank you!)
- khaganmv -> gave permission (thank you!)
- PolluxTroy0 -> gave permission (thank you!)
- donk74 -> gave permission (thank you!)
- Darkcopse -> did not reply
If Darkcopse replies and does not give his permission, I will take the mod down.

The Problem
Night City is gorgeous, but on the surface it seems to suffer a little from the Ubisoft formula. There are lots of POIs on the map, but once you have cleared a corner, it appears there would be no reason for coming back to it.
But as most of you know now, there are "Hidden Gems" located everywhere in and around Night City. Those are little stories told by the environment (like finding two bodies surrounded by hostile drones and some shard or E-Mail conversation letting you know the story of what went down).
Those "Hidden Gems" are unmarked in vanilla Cyberpunk 2077 and there is already a bunch of mods marking all of them on your map (just increasing the Ubisoft formula feeling).
A Possible Solution
This mod takes the mod made by Mad Cat MKII as a base and then does the following:
-
[]No "Hidden Gems" are displayed on the map per default.
[
]Everytime the player comes within 200m of a "Hidden Gem", there is a 25% chance of it being displayed on the map and in game (see screenshots). - As soon as the player leaves the vicinity of the "Hidden Gem" without interacting, the marker will disappear (and might reappear (25% chance) when coming near it again).
The effect of these changes is that the "Hidden Gems" become similar to random events. So whenever you walk around the city, something interesting might or might not pop up around
This Cyberpunk 2077 mod revives Night City by turning the Hidden Gems locations into dynamic random events, adding life to the world. It's for players who want more spontaneous encounters and a reason to explore. With 1,825 endorsements and frequent updates, it's a popular choice for those seeking emergent gameplay.
