📋 About This Mod
Gear Recovery System
Get flatlined. Get robbed. Get revived. Get your stuff back.
What is this?
I made Gear Recovery System because I like Death Alternative mods with a robbed/wiped inventory option, but I always wondered: “Why can’t I recover the stuff I lose?”
Death Alternative mods already make death feel less like a simple reload screen, so I wanted the lost gear part to feel like an actual gameplay consequence too. If your gear gets taken, I wanted there to be a reason, a place, and a way to get it back.
Gear Recovery System adds that missing step.
When a supported Death Alternative mod removes your gear after death, Gear Recovery System tracks what was lost and turns it into a recoverable NC DeadDrop cache. You get a message, a map marker, GPS support, and a chance to go recover your stuff.
Depending on the situation, the cache may also be guarded.
Features
Tracks gear removed after supported death/recovery events
Creates a recoverable NC DeadDrop cache
Sends in-game phone messages
Adds a custom map marker with GPS support
Supports save/reload before reaching the cache
Supports save/reload near the cache
Supports dying again before recovering your gear
Can spawn hostile guards near the cache
Restores recovered gear directly to your inventory
Supports Fenix Rebirth, Santa Muerte, and Trauma Team International through separate addons
How It Works
-
[]You die through a supported Death Alternative mod.[/]
[]That mod handles its own revive/recovery system.[/]
[]GRS checks what gear was removed.[/]
[]If items were lost, GRS creates a NC DeadDrop cache.[/]
[]You receive a message with recovery information.[/]
[]The cache is marked on the map.[/]
[]You travel there, deal with whatever is waiting, and recover your gear.[/]
Important
GRS does not do anything by itself.
It requires one supported Death Alternative mod to trigger.
Do not install multiple GRS Addons at the same time.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny but dedicated following (11 endorsements) — it's a niche fix that some players swear by.
- Over 7,500 downloads show real interest despite the low endorsement count.
- Actively updated (July 2026) — the author is still maintaining it.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 11 endorsements — could be a sign of limited testing or niche appeal.
- Potential compatibility issues with other gameplay mods — no compatibility notes provided.
For players who hate losing their hard-earned gear to a random death and want a second chance. If you're tired of respawning naked after a gank, this might be your fix. Skip if you prefer permadeath or hardcore rules.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Check if the mod requires a specific game version or DLC — the description doesn't say, so test it on a backup save first.
- If you use other gameplay overhauls, load this mod after them to avoid conflicts.
- Since it's a recovery system, make sure you understand the revive mechanic in your game — this mod likely triggers on that event.
