📋 About This Mod
If you ever had a situation when you can't play first equip animation - wonder no more. When you grab NPC, or object, or dead body - you get locked into "no first equip" state. Even when you finish your work it won't come back. The only way in vanilla to reset it - is to
1) enter\exit the car
2) reload save
This small fix just adds a script the removes the prevention naturally.
Compatibility:
2. 3-2. 31+ (thanks to mjupiter for testing it on 2. 3)
Always First Equip - is compatible, thanks to excelatrate for testing.
So far haven't faced any issues and I don't expect any. This fix wraps OnUnmountingEvent in PlayerPuppet, quite popular with other mods. But since its a wrap, it should workout fine. I have about 30+ mods myself.
Known Issues:
Not that I have seen in my playthroughs. I have done few playthroughs and never faced any issue, should work fine in any quest as well. But if any problems - report a bug, although I probably won't fix it. May be someone else will.
Installation:
Unzip the zip archive to CP2077 root folder so that "FirstEquipFix.reds" file ends up in the path "Cyberpunk 2077\r6\scripts"
Can be installed\removed at any moment, no need for new save
Delete "FirstEquipFix.reds" from "Cyberpunk 2077\r6\scripts" folder
Can be installed\removed at any moment, no need for new save
Disclaimer:
I probably won't be doing any fixes or follow-ups, its just a personal experimental thing that I wanted to share. You can share your experience and may be post bugs (if you encounter any), but I won't try and fix them. If you have a problem with the mod - just uninstall it and reload your save, you should be fine.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- High download-to-endorsement ratio suggests it works well for many players
- Targets a specific annoying bug that can break immersion
- Recent update (September 2025) means it's likely compatible with current game versions
⚠️ Cons
- Description is extremely vague—no details on which cases are fixed or how it works
- Niche fix that only matters if you actually encounter the bug
For players who've noticed their first equip animation sometimes doesn't play and want a quick fix. If you haven't encountered this issue, you probably don't need it. Skip if you're looking for broader animation overhauls.
