📋 About This Mod

I have always found that when I press down the left stick on the controller I only start running about 70% of the time. I finally dug into the reasons and found that there were some restrictive values plus one bug:

  • []If the L3 button is pressed and released too fast, the code that checks if sprinting can be started will run after you've released the button and won't register the press. [/]

[]The stick needs to be off center by a certain amount[/]

[]The player already needs to me moving at a certain speed before sprinting[/]

This mod fixes the first issue and reduces the numerical values for the last two points so that as long as you press the button you can sprint.

Notes:

  • []Another restriction on sprinting is that you need to be moving within 55° of forward to sprint. I didn't change that in this mod, but I did add it as a perk in Running Man - New Sprinting Perks.[/]

[]These changes apply to swimming fast as well as sprinting[/]

It's a small quality-of-life mod for players who find sprinting unresponsive. With 253 endorsements and 168,600 downloads, it's a popular fix.

✨ Key Features

Fixes a bug that prevented sprinting from starting reliably with a controller.
Relaxes the player velocity requirement before sprinting can begin.
Reduces the hold time needed on the sprint button to trigger sprint.
Simple gameplay tweak with no new mechanics or content.
Lightweight mod with high download-to-endorsement ratio.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Huge download count (168,600) shows it's a widely used fix.
  • Directly addresses a common controller annoyance—sprint not triggering.
  • Simple and focused; does exactly what it says without bloat.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only 253 endorsements compared to downloads—maybe not everyone's thrilled.
  • Last updated January 2026—could be outdated if the game has patched since.
🎯 Is This For You?
For controller players who are tired of mashing the sprint button and not getting a response. If you've ever died because your character wouldn't sprint, this is for you. Skip if you play with keyboard and mouse or if you prefer vanilla sprint mechanics.
