DELAMAIN SERVICE - Excelsior Protocol

This is a mod in a series of fixes I want to add in the Cyberpunk 2077 1. 61 Version "Edgerunners Update". I liked that version much better than the later versions and changes of the crafting/gear/perk functions of the game. So this is a mod for you people who want to have the actual Delamain - Excelsior Protocol for real. Something that the Devs just ignored and broke the Lore, so I fixed it.

Excelsior Protocol – Done Right

The story context (aka: why this should’ve been vanilla)

If you’ve played Cyberpunk 2077, you know Delamain isn’t just “some taxi AI.”

He’s a citywide autonomous cab network with military-grade hardware, self-awareness issues, and enough processing power to outthink half of Night City.

During the quest “Don’t Lose Your Mind”, things go completely sideways. Delamain fractures into multiple personalities, one of which is Excelsior — the ride-or-die, ultra-protective, borderline tactical personality whose entire purpose is keeping the passenger alive at all costs.

When you finish the quest and receive Delamain №21 (Junior) as a reward, the implication is clear:

This cab knows who you are,

knows how dangerous Night City is,

and has already demonstrated it can survive gunfights, ramming, explosions, and psycho-level chaos.

The problem (aka: devs dropped the ball)

In vanilla gameplay:

Delamain №21 explodes like a rental Corolla

Random gangoons can total a supposedly elite AI cab

You can literally die inside the most protective taxi in the city

Which is… dumb. Lore-breaking dumb.

This isn’t a civilian Uber.

This is a self-aware combat-capable AI vehicle that already proved it can:

Override safety protocols

Ram enemies

Survive extreme damage

Prioritize passenger survival over its own existence

So yeah — this mod exists because the devs didn’t follow their own story logic.

This mod activates Delamain's Excelsior Protocol when you enter Delamain №21 — and only that specific reward vehicle.

The mod targets only the actual player reward cab

No other vehicles are affected

No global godmode nonsense

If it’s not your Delamain, nothing happens.

Bulletproof. Rocket-proof. Night City-proof.

When you enter the cab:

The vehicle becomes fully invulnerable

Structural mass is increased (this thing now feels like armored steel, not soda cans)

Health is effectively infinite

Damage reduction is maxed

Excelsior Protocol isn’t just about the car — it’s about you.

While you’re inside:

You also receive temporary invulnerability

The protection is removed instantly when you exit

No permanent buffs.
