CLM is a mod that restore the lighting and colorgrading of the 2018 version of the game using the original files
i wasn't a fan of how the game colors ended up looking compared to the
2018 footage, the extremely heavy contrast and the constant yellow/gold
cast everywhere like a Hollywood movie disappointed me, the original
colors direction was more like an 80/90 cyberpunk movie/anime which i
preferred a lot
so i started to work on the mod on and off a bit after the initial release of the game, what took so long was figuring
out how to make the change across the entire main questline and zones,
since the old files are not compatible with the release version of the
engine and i didn't want to alter them and make them fit, the goal was to
keep it strictly like they were left from 2018 build as much as
however those old files were extremely incomplete, they used variables/settings that don't exist/work anymore, so i had to
figure out 80% of the rest on top of making them work for the version of
the engine that we have
Tonemaping:
- switched from Linear to ACES, ACES is the tonemapper used in the 2018/2019
builds of the game, it has a softer/ brighter/neutral colors look to it
compared to the heavily contrasted Linear mod used in the released
LUT/colors:
