📋 About This Mod
HDR ReShade preset that improves the overall clarity of the game. RenoDX is required and needs to be downloaded from the RenoDX Discord server. Please see description for HDR image comparisons. Screenshots in images tab are in SDR (Nexus
UPDATE MAY 30TH 2026: PRESET NO LONGER SUPPORTED.
-
[]Preset should still work fine, but the current version posted will be the last one I upload for a while.[/]
[]
I'll try and keep the installation instructions updated if any major RenoDX changes happen, but that depends on how much time & energy I have. I'm starting a new job and providing support just isn't something I want to deal with for the foreseeable future.
[/]This preset is for HDR only. If you're not playing the game in HDR (aka SDR) then please check out Vanstorm's Night City Ultra Clarity ReShade preset
Images within the gallery are in SDR (Nexus limitation).
You can see HDR comparisons at the bottom of this description page.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Click above to be taken to a full RenoDX and ReShade install guide. All you need is the ReShade preset from here. The rest is explained in the guide.
-
[]If you are updating from Version 1 of the preset, you just need to rerun the ReShade Installer, pick Update ReShade and Effects, pick the new preset, and it will pick the new shaders you need. You'll also want to make sure you're using the latest version of RenoDX that contains the PsychoV-17 tonemapper.[/]
[]I was even nice enough to include how to tweak the preset to your liking. I tell you exactly which shader settings you can touch, and which you should avoid touching unless you want to break everything.[/]
[]Ray Reconstruction Preset D is highly recommended. Preset E may be better for motion clarity but it has worse issues with banding, especially in the sky. [/]

[]
It requires the ability to read instructions that I spent quite a few days writing and re-tweaking over multiple iterations.
[/][]Do not expect just to throw this preset into the ReShade installer and it'll just magically work. It requires you to download a couple shaders from GitHub and manually add them to your reshade-shaders folder after the ReShade installation.[/]
[]You will need to change a couple settings within the preset. These are documented in the guide. [/]
[]You may need to fine-tune the preset depending on your mod loadout or type of display.[/]
[]Preset was made on an LG C2 OLED display, that has a peak brightness of 800 nits, with paper white configured for 203 nits. [/]
