Automatic Tech Weapon Handling (Like the Raiju)

This is a very simple TweakXL mod that makes the fully automatic Tech weapons - the Arasaka Senkoh LX, the Darra Polytechnic DR-12 Quasar, and the Hansen Armory HA-4 Grit - handle the same way as the Raiju (Iconic Senkoh LX) for all shooting modes (charged, uncharged, and Bolt). This refers to the weapons' fire mode handling, not the Raiju's uncharged wall penetration and headshot critical damage effects.

Fully automatic Tech weapons in the vanilla game (aside from the Raiju) have the following issues:

• []There is a substantial delay between each uncharged shot (or burst) that can be fired while aiming down sights (ADS). [/]

  []If you fail to time a Bolt shot successfully, or if you cancel your automatic Bolt shots early, you have to either wait for the aforementioned delay to finish, or stop and restart ADS, before trying again, making it feel like the weapon is locked up/unresponsive if you stay ADS.[/]

  []When timing a Bolt shot successfully, if you then stop ADS, it will continue to shoot Bolt shots for the remainder of the timed Bolt shot effect (2 seconds in vanilla) even if you hip-fire.[/]

  With this mod (and how the Raiju functions in the vanilla game):

  • []You will be able to shoot uncharged shots repeatedly, without unusual delays, while staying ADS.[/]

    []You will be able to start charging again immediately after you stop firing, while staying ADS.[/]

    []When timing a Bolt shot successfully, it will stop shooting Bolt shots immediately if you leave ADS.[/]

    I hesitate to call this mod a "fix", since CDPR probably had these weapons function the way they did for some balance reason - but frankly they feel terrible to use in the vanilla game compared to the Raiju unless you exclusively fire from the hip. Overall, this is a slight buff to the affected weapons, but more importantly, makes them feel much better to use.

    Compatibility

    Works fine with Bolt Shot FX Reset Fix, which is also highly recommended (along with most of Emil8000's other fix mods).

    Works fine with Bug Fix - Full-Auto Tech Weapons Bolt Duration, which extends the 2 seconds of potential Bolt shots from fully automatic Tech weapons to 4 seconds, to cover their full magazine capacities (by default they stop Bolt shots part way through the mag). This mod will still prevent continuing Bolt shots if you switch to hip-fire.

    Should work with any mod that adds new variants of these weapons as long as they're built using the same base definition for the item as all the vanilla variants. If they're not, this mod won't affect them, which might be desirable if they're trying to do something unique anyways.
