📋 About This Mod

This mod makes the Field of View (FOV) you set in the graphics menu stick across the entire game. The game often overrides FOV in certain moments — like first-person driving or scripted sequences — and sometimes forces FOV values so low you can’t even pick them in the graphics settings, which causes a sudden zoom. This mod fixes that by keeping your chosen FOV consistent instead of letting the game swap it out behind your back.

Under the hood, it applies a broad set of targeted tweaks at game startup that tell the engine: don’t change the FOV — use the player’s value wherever it’s allowed. Unlike approaches that juggle separate fixed presets or ask you to micromanage different FOV profiles, this mod respects the value you picked and keeps it steady without extra work.

This design is intentionally hands-off: it doesn’t run per-scenario logic or set its own FOV values. Instead, at startup it disables the game’s automatic FOV changes wherever the engine allows, so your configured FOV is honored. Other mods can still change FOV if they choose, this mod doesn’t overwrite their values.

Please note that there are still scenarios where your FOV is temporarily changed automatically.

Unfortunately, no simple mod can cover these specific situations — they’re locked away at the engine level.

This mod, however, handles everything that can be handled.

Install Instructions

This mod requires TweakXL, which in turn depends on RED4ext and REDscript.

Also make sure the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2022 (x64) is installed, otherwise RED4ext will not work at all.
