There Be Dragons - Part 4 - Island Breeze

United States and Australia vs. China Date/Time: 2nd May 2024 / 02:00:00 Zulu Location: South Pacific Playable Sides: United States Introduction At about the same time that Chinese forces began pouring into Thailand from Myanmar, they also initiated an invasion of Vietnam, moving North to South. They quickly circled Hanoi, and used the coastal highways to push all the way to Cam Ranhn Bay. At this point China holds nearly the entire perimiter of the Indochina Pennisula. As they move South, China has been taking over air and naval bases along the Vietnamese coast and using them to rapidly supply and defend their network of islands in the South China Sea. At present Vietnam's ground forces have stopped the Chinese Southward advance in the narrow valley between Cam Ranh and Phang Rang. They accomplished this, in part, by narrowing the choke point by flooding the valley from the Ho Ba Rau and Ho Song Trau dams. Neither Vietnam, nor the US want US ground troops in Vietnam, but Vietnam has requested material and air support. The US and Austrailia are taking a more offensive approach in an attempt to turn the tide. The US Marines have been preparing for an agile Spratley island campaign for over a decade. Now they put it to the test. Scoring In this scenario, the US does not acquire points for destroying enemy units. Points are only awarded for achieving the list of objectives. (Island landings, and Aid Delivery).
