There Be Dragons - Part 3 - Thai Hot

United States vs. China Date/Time: 30th April 2024 / 02:00:00 Zulu Location: Indian Ocean Playable Sides: United States Introduction In 2019, the civillian government in Myanmar was overthrown by their own military. It had long been suspected that this coup was orchestrated by the Chinese in order to establish a Chinese puppet state along the Indian Ocean. Indeed, soon afterwards, China supplied Myanmar with significant financial assitance in return for a Chinese Naval and Air base at Kyaukpyu. That base, along with new rail and pipelines have allowed China to undergo an infrastucture and economic revitaliztion program in their Central, landlocked regions. Now, that base is serving as a launching point for an offensive into Thailand. Myanmar and Thailand are separated by mostly mountain, jungle, and the Kra Buri river. There are only two major crossing points of the Kra Buri river that can support a large movement of heavy vehicles. They are ironically named the Myanmar/Thailand Friendship Bridge 1, and the Myanmar/Thailand Friendship Bridge 2, both are quite close to each other only about 300 miles Northwest of Bangkok. The Chinese aircraft carrier Shandong has been maintaining a position off the Myanmar coast for the past two months to support the new military government, and to act as a logistical cross-dock for the new base. Immediately after the Chinese amphibious offensive at Singapore was turned back, Chinese ground units, that had been transported into Myanmar by rail, crossed into Thailand and began moving South toward Bangkok. The force is moving South at a rapid pace under the cover of aircraft from the Shandong, and the Kyaukpyu air base. Scoring Victory is based on achieving your Strategic Objectives, and is separate from scoring. You could actually score badly, but still win, or the other way around.
