Snapshot!

SNAPSHOT! "It may affront the military-minded person to suggest a regime that does not maintain any military secrets." --Albert Einstein May 1, 2022. Many military missions arent fatal; in fact a lot of them are for intelligence gathering. Suspecting that Russia would install nuclear missiles on Kaliningrad after Finland and Sweden applied for Nato membership, Europe needed evidence it had occurred before improving their defenses. Detailed and timely information would give governments more time for decision making instead of waiting for a surprise announcement from the Kremlin. With ISR closely tracking train, roads and shipping lanes, the cargo ship Ambal was observed offloading mysterious cargo at Baltiysk Naval Base. Unloading at night precisely when satellites were not overhead, only an infrared camera up close would be able to spot the telltale nuclear markings of an iskander vehicle. You must fly an aircraft as close as possible to the Ambal for several minutes and you will have a short time to record the unloading. Flying inside the 12 mile territorial sea of Kaliningrad will cause a hostile response as it is within the country's exclusion zone. As Commander of Allied Air Command (AIRCOM), a shootdown of aircraft from either side will launch a court martial with serious consequences. When it is safe to do so however...take the snapshot. The Iskander vehicle will be hidden from most angles except seaside while unloading. There are many types of thermal sensors in the scenario; luascript code will depict the best dozen or so. Some platforms will not be available in the short time provided. More advanced thermal platforms will complete the task in less time than others. Unit Detected events will include non-thermal sensors, so lua was used to filter sensors. Special Messages popups only; database 3000/492.
