Nato Europe and Ukraine: Military Balance 2023

Last update April 1 / 2023. What if Nato engaged the Russian Federation to protect Ukraine? Nato and Russian Federation order of battle near ukraine, non-nuclear only. For creating scenarios, not playable. Focus is on air and navy units close to ukraine, squadron unit numbers on all aircraft to verify accuracy. Nato and Russia air force / navy rotational deployments included. Approx Russian ground units in Ukrainian theater included. NATO countries each have a side unless they are in the side 'other nato members'. Reinforcements have not been added (this is the current inventory), though I may add a timeline in future. Ukraine orbat not included. Squadron numbers are assigned to all aircraft in order to ensure accuracy and dates. Some airports are duplicated near each other to show foreign aircraft at host airbases e.g. usaf aircraft at polish airbases. Loadouts are generic. Some current ISR aircraft and common warships are deployed from various countries. All russian and european fighter / attack / support squadrons included. Baltic Air Policing aircraft and warship positions are extremely dynamic so this is only a snapshot in time. To reduce clutter simply delete the NATO or Russian IADS sides (or any side) under the editor. Any side can be deleted by editor / add/edit sides / remove. There is a 'typical' Russian 'Storm' Assault Unit company and Ukrainian mechanized company for comparison in the south of Ukraine, gods eye unit view. Nato and Russian integrated air defense systems are on a separate 'side'. Non-Nato air surveillance radars are combined with each country. Updates and corrections welcome! a work in progress.
