Description

Movement expands Borderlands 2 with a faster, more modern movement system and a new melee execution mechanic while keeping the original game feel intact.

Slide through combat, carry momentum into slide jumps, perform up to two air dashes, and use two additional mid-air jumps for a full Triple Jump. Glory Kills let you execute weakened enemies for a full heal and optional bonus loot, accompanied by custom effects, sounds, and HUD feedback.

The mod is designed to be modular: the major gameplay features and their visual feedback can be enabled or disabled separately from the in-game Mod Menu.

A major focus of Movement is stability. Its FX, audio, and custom Scaleform UI systems were built around strict lifetime and map-transition safety rules so the mod can coexist cleanly with other complex PythonSDK mods.

Installation instructions

  • []Make sure Borderlands 2 PythonSDK / the SDK Mod Manager is installed and working. [/]

[]Download the Movement release archive. [/]

    []Place

    movement.sdkmodin your Borderlands 2

    sdk_modsfolder. [/]

    []Start Borderlands 2. [/]

[]Open the SDK Mod Menu and enable Movement. [/]

[]Configure individual Movement features from the mod's options menu. [/]

Movement includes its own custom HUD resources. No manual installation of separate visual assets should be required when using the provided release package.

For co-op, all players should have Movement installed and enabled.

Main features

Sliding

Sprint and crouch to enter a fast slide. Sliding reacts to terrain, gains speed downhill, and gradually slows on flat or uphill ground.

Slide Jumping

Jump during a slide to carry your horizontal momentum into the air instead of immediately losing your speed.

Air Dash

Perform up to two directional air dashes per airtime. Dash includes optional custom HUD feedback, sound effects, and a first-person screen effect.

Triple Jump

The normal Borderlands 2 jump remains intact, while Movement adds two additional airborne jumps, creating a three-jump sequence. Horizontal velocity is preserved and the extra jumps use a controlled vertical boost.

Glory Kills

Enemies below roughly 15% health can become vulnerable to a Glory Kill. Finish them with melee to trigger an execution with custom visual and sound effects.

A successful Glory Kill can provide:

  • []Full health restoration [/]

    []Custom Glory Kill FX [/]

[]Custom heal and reward HUD indicators [/]

    []Optional reward sound [/]

[]Optional Tiny Tina reward voice line [/]

[]Optional four additional native loot rolls [/]

The bonus loot uses Borderlands 2's own physical world-loot system rather than injecting items directly into the backpack.

Custom HUD

Movement includes custom HUD symbols for:

  • []Slide [/]

    []Dash [/]

    []Triple Jump [/]

    []Glory Kill healing [/]

    []Glory Kill bonus loot [/]

The HUD uses Movement's own packaged Scaleform assets and is designed to rebuild safely across map and HUD transitions.

Custom FX and SFX

Movement uses selected Borderlands 2 particle and audio effects for Dash and Glory Kill presentation while keeping gameplay independent from optional presentation. If an optional effect is unavailable, the gameplay feature continues to work.

Modular configuration

Major gameplay systems and their visual feedback can be enabled or disabled separately.

Requirements

  • []Borderlands 2 [/]

[]PythonSDK / SDK Mod Manager [/]

[]Movement must be enabled through the SDK Mod Menu [/]

[]For multiplayer/co-op, all participating players should have the mod installed and enabled [/]

No additional gameplay mods are required.

Movement has also been tested alongside other complex PythonSDK mods, including Item Manager, with repeated map transitions and custom UI systems active at the same time.

Shout outs

Huge thanks to the Borderlands 2 PythonSDK and modding community for the tools, research, documentation, and years of reverse engineering that make projects like this possible.

Special thanks to the work behind BL2 Eternal, which inspired parts of Movement's Dash and Glory Kill presentation and helped provide a reference point while rebuilding those effects with a stronger stability-focused architecture.

Thanks as well to everyone who helped test Movement through repeated gamepl
