Locked Doors

This mod will dynamically lock doors and unprotected chests in the dungeon and hides the key on enemies or somewhere in the room. To be able to access the side loot you will now have to find the key first, which will only unlock the door/chest of the room it is paired with, or buy a lockpick set so you can pick the locks instead.

Doors that don't protect anything will not lock automatically and only chests that don't have a door will lock automatically.

Lockpicking

To pick a lock you require a tension tool and a rake tool, a set can be bought in the shop at T1 for 150 gold. The set will always spawn a tension tool with a rake tool attached. Once you take the rake tool out it is hard to put it back but don't worry it will despawn and reattach when you put the tension tool back in your inventory.

First insert the tension tool into the lock. Keep it inside the lock the whole time as taking it out will reset the pins. Once the lock is picked you can rotate the tension tool like a key to (un)lock the lock.

To pick the lock you need to also insert the rake tool, which can move in and out (depth) and up and down (angle). Each lock can have a difficulty (for now they are all 3) which means there are 3 pins to pick. Every pin will choose a random depth and angle that you need to find to pick it. There is also a depth and angle window for each lock that can make it easier to find the spot (for now all are ±0. 01m and ±5 degrees). When you find the hotspot the rake tool will start to vibrate continuously and the lock will rattle louder than normal at which point you need to press trigger on the rake tool to set the pin.

Once all pins have been picked, the tension tool will be able to rotate. If you do so the lock will (un)lock (depending on direction).

Key on NPCs: Determines if the key of a locked door/chest can spawn on NPCs. (default true)

Key in World: Determines if the key of a locked door/chest can spawn somewhere in the room. (default true)

Highlight unfound keys: Determines if the key flashes red until it is found. (default false)
