📋 About This Mod

Features

New Blood Particles -

New semi-stylized and bloodier particles for slash, pierce, and blunt damage as well as throat pierce/slashes and dismemberment.

Custom Decals - New varied blood decals, as well as a custom decal spawning system. Unlike the base game, the mod's blood decals can splatter on more than just the floor! I highly recommend disabling the base game decals if you leave custom decals enabled. A small guide to doing so can be found further down the mod description.

Varied Effects -

Slash and pierce effects, both particles and decals, vary based on the type of weapon used. For instance, a sword spills more blood than a dagger, while a large axe spills more blood than a sword. The amount of blunt particles and decals scales proportionally to the force of the hit. Medieval MegaPack is fully supported, and some blood effects are even specific to MMP weapon types. I highly recommend grabbing it if you haven't already!

Customization - Check the Mods section of the options menu in-game for a slew of configuration options, allowing you to adjust various aspects of the mod. Clicking a setting's name will give you more information about it.

More to come in the future!

Disable Vanilla Game Blood Decals

If you want to disable the vanilla game's decals, which I highly recommend if you keep the mod's decals enabled, follow these steps:

1. Go to your Blade & Sorcery Saves folder. This should be located at

C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\BladeAndSorcery\Saves

2. Open the "Default" folder. The inside will look something like this.

3. Open the "Options.opt" file (it will just be called "Options" if you have file extensions off) with Notepad or another text editing software. You can do this by right-clicking, selecting "Open with...", and selecting Notepad (or an alternative).

4. Find the line that says "Max Decals": 50,     and change it to "Max Decals": 0,

then save and close the file. You can do the opposite to re-enable vanilla decals if you so choose.

Known Issues

Particle and decal color is too bright in dark areas - Despite extensive attempts to fix this issue, particles and decals appear bright red in dark lighting conditions. I've mitigated this to the best of my ability but I've been unable to completely fix it. This is especially noticeable in Dungeons. Apologies!

Mostly fixed! Particles can still be a bit bright sometimes, but the decals are now properly lit.

Throat spray occasionally emits from air near throat - This is a base game issue that is made more noticeable by the mod and is not something I can fix.

Credits & Thanks

Credit to Enhanced Blood Textures for the blood decals. I highly recommend it for your Skyrim playthroughs!

Huge thanks to BowtAI for answering my beginner scripting questions since I'm still a scripting baby and Sushin for the original Blood Effects Overhaul as well as for providing feedback on this one!
