Village Defense

This mod aims to solve the pain points of villages and villagers being attacked, and of hideouts littering the map in the late game.

Here is how the mod works: once a village reaches a certain level of prosperity, it spawns militia forces that scale from low-tier to legendary.

The militia appears under the following circumstances, and only one force can be active per village at a time:

The village's own villagers are attacked (by hostile factions or bandits).

The village itself is raided.

If the village grows enough to spawn the highest-tier force, it will automatically search for hideouts within a certain radius every 15 days and send the force to clear them. After the hideout is cleared, the force patrols the surrounding area for three days, attacking only bandits, then returns to the village when the three days are up.

If the militia force is defeated, the village automatically loses prosperity equal to the force's headcount at the time it was spawned, and enters a 5-day cooldown (no new forces are spawned during that period).

Prisoners captured by the force after battle are automatically sent to the prison of the castle or town the village belongs to. The influence and renown gained from clearing hideouts go to the village's lord (this applies to AI lords as well).

Prosperity tiers: 0–199: no militia · 200–399: low-tier, 60 men · 400–599: mid-tier, 80 men · 600–999: high-tier, 100 men · 1000+: legendary, 150 men. Each tier is automatically recruited according to the village's culture (from low to high), with melee : ranged : cavalry = 1 : 1 : 1.
