## Summary
Over 3,700 given names and clan names are added for the vanilla cultures to reduce the chance of duplicating NPC names. They are lore-friendly. Additionally, this mod is fully compatible with almost all other mods. Additionally, extra mod cultures, such as Huaxia and Tetsojin, are supported. This mod provides around 7,000 names in total.
Currently, this mod supports: Shokuhō, Tetsojin (Ronin), Huaxia Kingdom, and The Valkyrie. Additionally, this mod partially supports Banner Kings: Culture Expanded, Realm Divided, Calradia Expanded: Kingdoms.
News: TaleWorlds picked this mod as one of the marvelous mods (at Community Tales #5 and Twitter/X). Thanks to all of you!
## How to install
-
[]Install this using any mod manager, or download, Unzip, and copy to the Bannerlords' modules folder.[/]
[]Load this mod after any other mod that changes culture settings or compatible mods mentioned later. If you don't know, you may load this last or try to use BLSE sorting.[/]
I recommend using Rebel Clan Name Changer and Better Name Dice, and Troops Have Names Too to exploit this mod's resource. I also recommend using this with Culture Diversity Mod or Better NPCs to further characterize each culture.
## Details
There are already similar mods. However, I'm not satisfied with them for the following reasons:
-
[]They lose compatibility with other mods and Bannerlord's wrong versions because they actually overwrite names, not add. Furthermore, they also overwrite irrelevant cultural settings.[/]
[]They don't support localization at all.[/]
[]This is my preference, but they don't look historical or lore-friendly. Why so modern names? Why Italian names in the Empire? Why are Germanic names in Battania? Why are their cultures so multiethnic? Why not?[/]
This mod solves all of the above issues.
[]This mod is compatible with almost all of the other mods and previous versions by avoiding unnecessary overwriting.[/]
[]This mod adds lore-friendly names, picked from various historical sources and consistent with each culture.[/]
[]This mod supports extra cultures added by some mods.[/]
[]This mod currently supports localization, including full Japanese and partial Chine

Adds over 3000 lore-friendly random NPC names to vanilla and modded cultures, with high compatibility and Japanese support. Ideal for players seeking more variety in NPC naming without breaking immersion.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Massive name pool – 3000+ names means you'll rarely see repeats.
- Lore-friendly and vanilla-friendly, so it won't break immersion.
- High compatibility – works with other mods without conflicts.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects random NPC names – if you're looking for more, this won't add quests or content.
- May not cover every modded culture – only 'extra modding cultures' are supported.
- Compatibility risk with mods that heavily alter NPC generation or naming systems.
This is for players who are tired of seeing the same generic NPC names and want more variety without straying from lore. It's also great for modders who want to expand naming options for custom cultures.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you use mods that add new races or cultures, check if they're included in the 'extra modding cultures' support.
- Since it's high compatibility, you can safely add it mid-playthrough, but it will only affect newly generated NPCs.
