Economy Overhaul Framework
A systemic economic overhaul that makes cities, villages, trade and wars actually matter. This mod reworks Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord’s economy to behave in a more coherent, reactive and strategic way, without forcing artificial AI behavior or turning the game into a management simulator.
The goal is simple:
make economy, warfare and AI decisions naturally influence each other.
🔹 Core Philosophy-
[]No scripted outcomes
[]No forced AI behavior
[]No hard collapses or instant recoveries
Wars are no longer decided only by armies, but also by logistics, production and supply.
🏘️ Cities & Food System ReworkCity food supply now has multiple layers:-
[]Cities depend on their bound villages for long-term stability
[
]When villages are raided, cities begin to suffer economically[]Shortages do not cause instant collapse, but prolonged pressure leads to:
[]food decline
[]prosperity loss
[]slower militia growth
-
[]If a city is starving, it can temporarily consume food stored in the market
[
]This buffer is limited and slow[]It prevents instant famine, but cannot sustain a city indefinitely
-
[]Raiding villages before an siege actually matters
[]Failed sieges still damage the defending city
[]Cities recover only if their surrounding territory recovers
🌾 Village Production OverhaulVillage production is now influenced by:-
[]Village population (hearth-based)
[
]Regional characteristics (coastal, mountain, northern, southern, etc.)[]Seasonal effects
[]Demand from the bound city
[]Stronger economic regions
[]Meaningful production specialization
[*]Real consequences when villages are repeatedly raided
-
[]No scripted outcomes
Bannerlord Economy Overhaul reworks the game's economy to make food, trade, and territory matter. Cities depend on villages, raids cause lasting damage, markets only delay famine, and production/demand react dynamically. The AI also becomes more strategic. It's for players seeking deeper, more punishing economic simulation.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Makes food and trade actually matter—no more infinite markets.
- Raids finally have teeth; losing a village hurts for a long time.
- Dynamic production/demand keeps the economy feeling alive.
⚠️ Cons
- May slow down late-game snowballing if you rely on passive income.
- Could make early game brutally hard if you're not managing food carefully.
- Compatibility risk with other economy or AI mods—test before stacking.
This is for players who want a more challenging, simulation-heavy campaign where every village and trade route counts. If you're tired of money being a non-issue and want strategic depth, this is your mod. Not for casual players who just want to fight battles.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Prioritize protecting your villages—losing them will cripple your economy.
- Stockpile food in your cities before sieges or wars, since markets won't save you.
- Watch your production chains; dynamic demand means prices shift fast.
