Description

I have always considered Spartan Kick one of the least interesting and least useful abilities in Kassandra's arsenal. It can be fun in certain situations, but in serious combat there are usually far more effective ways to deal with an enemy.

So I decided to replace it with something much more useful — a fast defensive maneuver inspired by the abilities used by mercenaries.

Unstoppable Backstep allows Kassandra to instantly leap away from danger and briefly become invulnerable during and immediately after the maneuver.

This gives you a new defensive option against powerful opponents, heavy weapon attacks and aggressive enemies using fast multi-hit combinations. Even if a second attack follows almost immediately after the first one, the protection provided by the backstep can give Kassandra enough time to escape, reposition and continue the fight.

Sometimes the best attack is simply not being there when the enemy strikes.

How to Use

Unlock Spartan Kick in the Warrior ability tree and assign it to one of your active ability slots.

The ability only needs to be unlocked at Level 1. Upgrading Spartan Kick is not required and does not improve the backstep.

During combat, simply press the same key or controller button that would normally activate Spartan Kick.

Instead of kicking the enemy, Kassandra will perform the defensive backstep and temporarily enter the protected state.

Spartan Kick Level 1 is enough. Just unlock it, equip it and use it normally.

Installation

1. Install Forger2 if you do not already use it.

2. Extract the downloaded archive.

3. Copy Kassandra_Unstoppable_Backstep_v1. 0.forger2 into the ForgerPatches folder inside your Assassin's Creed Odyssey installation directory.

4. Launch Forger2 and click Rescan.

5. Find Kassandra — Unstoppable Backstep in the patch list.

6. Enable Unstoppable Backstep.

7. Close Forger2 and launch the game.

Only one mod replacing Spartan Kick should be enabled at the same time.

Requirements and Compatibility

• Requires Forger2.

• Spartan Kick must be unlocked and assigned to an active ability slot.

• Spartan Kick does not need to be upgraded beyond Level 1.

• May conflict with other mods that replace Spartan Kick.

• May also conflict with mods that modify the same player ability resources.

• Disable other Spartan Kick replacement mods before using this one.
