这是《刺客信条：奥德赛》的中英文字体替换包。中文部分是这个模组的主要内容，使用思源宋体 Bold，并补充了一批游戏文本里会用到的缺字。绝大多数中文界面和剧情文本应该都能正常显示，但仍可能有极少数生僻字没有被替换。

英文部分也包含在同一个包里，使用 Adobe Jenson Pro Capt。它目前接近可用，但仍属于实验性效果，可能会有字母大小、间距、标点风格或界面对齐不够理想的问题。

1. 打开游戏安装目录，例如：

`...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Assassins Creed Odyssey`

`DataPC_patch_01.forge`

建议复制一份到别处，或者改名为：

`DataPC_patch_01.forge.backup`

3. 把本模组里的 `DataPC_patch_01.forge` 复制到游戏目录里，覆盖原文件。

把你备份的原版 `DataPC_patch_01.forge` 放回游戏目录即可。也可以通过 Steam 或 Ubisoft Connect 验证游戏文件来恢复原版文件。

English Description

This is a Chinese and English UI font replacement for Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The Simplified Chinese replacement is the main and most polished part of the mod. It uses Source Han Serif SC Bold and includes additional glyph coverage for many characters used by the game's localization.

The English replacement is included in the same package and uses Adobe Jenson Pro Capt. It is close to usable, but it is still experimental. Some letters, punctuation, spacing, or UI alignment may still look uneven.

Installation

1. Open your game folder, for example:

`...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Assassins Creed Odyssey`

2. Back up the original file:

`DataPC_patch_01.forge`

You can copy it somewhere safe or rename it to:

`DataPC_patch_01.forge.backup`

3. Copy the modded `DataPC_patch_01.forge` into the game folder and overwrite the original file.

4. Start the game.

Uninstallation

Restore your original `DataPC_patch_01.forge`, or verify game files through Steam / Ubisoft Connect.

Compatibility

This mod replaces `DataPC_patch_01.forge`. It will conflict with any other mod that replaces the same file.

How It Was Made

Assassin's Creed Odyssey does not simply load normal loose `.ttf` or `.otf` font files for these UI screens. The visible UI text is rendered through prebuilt GOFF font cache resources inside the game's forge archives.

The mod was made by:

1. Locating the font manager resources inside `DataPC_patch_01.forge`.

2. Identifying the active GOFF glyph-cache resources used by the Chinese and English UI paths.

3. Parsing the GOFF glyph table:

- codepoint table

- glyph offsets

- glyph header data

- grayscale bitmap mask data

4. Rendering replacement glyph bitmaps from desktop fonts into the original GOFF bitmap format.

5. Rebuilding GOFF offsets and resource payload sizes.

6. Writing the modified resource back into a copied `DataPC_patch_01.forge`.

The Chinese path uses Source Han Serif SC Bold with fixed-em rendering. The English path uses Adobe Jenson Pro Capt, but it is rendered with a fixed-em / cell-based workflow because that produced a more consistent result with the Chinese UI style than directly following the original English GOFF metrics.

Known Limitations

- This is a full `DataPC_patch_01.forge` replacement, not a lightweight patcher.

- Any mod that also edits `DataPC_patch_01.forge` will conflict.

- Some UI screens may use different font resources or scaling rules.

- The font result depends on the game's own UI shader, outline, and scaling behavior, so offline previews are only approximate.

- Added glyphs may not show in simple preview sheets because they do not have an original glyph block to compare against.

- The Chinese replacement is close to complete, but a few rare characters may still remain original or unmodified.

- The English replacement is not as polished as the Chinese replacement and should be treated as experimental.
