Map Unfog

AC3UnfogMap.asi is an ASI plugin that removes the fog on the map menu/minimap in Boston, New York, and the Frontier.

Assassin's Creed III does not unfog the whole visual map when the player enters a new region and synchronizes every viewpoint. It requires the player to run around the region to erase all of the fog.

Inspired by hex's AC3 Remastered trainer I recreated the unfog map function for the original game.

This ASI plugin unfogs the full visual map for Boston, New York, and the Frontier. Homestead never had the fog of war and is unaffected. Now you don't have to search for those narrow roads in the Frontier or run around the edges of the map because some fog is still left.

As this is a visual overlay and does not affect the player's own map fog save data, icons for things like the Liberation mission prerequisites will still have to be found through exploring the regional subareas. Similarly for the Courier and Delivery icons (MapGenie has their locations) and Homestead exploration mementos for revealing the maps in Boston, New York, and the Frontier. If you're going for those you can temporarily disable the unfog map ASI. You only really need around 75-80% of those regions unfogged to trigger the mementos and that will also complete one of the requirements for Frontiersman Challenges Set 3.

Installation:

1. Download Ultimate ASI Loader's 32-bit version: here.

2. Copy and paste the dinput8.dll file into the Assassin's Creed III directory, same location as AC3SP.exe.

3. Download the mod and copy and paste the folder "scripts" into the Assassin's Creed III directory.

The scripts folder contains both the ASI plugin as well as an INI file, AC3UnfogMap.ini. The ASI runs after starting the game. The INI file has a property "Enabled=1" on by default, to turn off the ASI you can set it to "Enabled=0" then restart the game.
