Plant Grass

Repaint grass onto terrain that's turned to bare dirt/mud by terrain leveling — press a key, get your grass back. Or hold Shift for a flat, mowed lawn.

New in 1. 4. 0:

• []Adjustable radius in-game — hold Alt + the key to grow the painted area, Alt+Shift to shrink it (0. 5–30 m). An on-screen message shows the new size, and it is saved.

  []Cycle the biome in-game — hold Ctrl + the key for the next biome, Ctrl+Shift for the previous.

  []Spares what's around you — grass fills right up to buildings and farm fields without painting on them, and placed objects (stick bushes, water collectors, and the like) are no longer destroyed by a large paint.

  Requirements

  • []BepInEx (IL2CPP build) — install it into the game folder first. Follow the official BepInEx installation guide: docs.bepinex.dev — Installation (use the IL2CPP build for this game).

    Installation

    Updating from a an old version (before 1. 2. 3)

    If you are coming from a version before 1. 2. 3, the mod folder was renamed from AskaPlantGrass to PlantGrass. Delete BepInEx/plugins/AskaPlantGrass before you install. If you leave it in place, the game can load the old copy instead of the new one. Vortex removes the old files for you. Your settings are safe either way, because the config file name has not changed.

    With Vortex: click Mod Manager Download and enable the mod in Vortex. BepInEx is still required (see Requirements).

    Manual install:

    • []Install BepInEx first (see Requirements).

      []Extract this archive into your Aska game folder — the one containing Aska.exe — so the files land in BepInEx\plugins\PlantGrass\ (both PlantGrass.dll and AskaShared.dll).

      []Launch the game.

      Usage

      Every action uses one key (] by default, configurable):

      • []] — restore grass in a radius around you.

        []Shift + ] — lay a mowed lawn: grass with the tall 3D blades removed (the same effect the in-game rake produces). Mows existing grass, and grasses-then-mows leveled dirt.

        []Alt + ] / Alt+Shift + ] — grow / shrink the radius (0. 5–30 m); saved to config.

        []Ctrl + ] / Ctrl+Shift + ] — cycle the biome forward / back.

        Roads, paths, and bedrock are left untouched. Grass fills up to buildings and farm fields but not onto them, and placed objects in range are preserved.

        Painted spots come up as grass even in rocky areas — the mod marks the spot as grassland the same way the game's own sapling planting does. If you'd rather naturally rocky ground keep its rocky look, turn PaintGrassBiome off in the config.

        Configuration

        Settings live in BepInEx\config\mugsy33.plantgrass.cfg (created on first run). Edit it with the game closed.

        • []Enabled — master on/off switch (default: true).

          []Key — the one key for every action: press for grass, Shift to mow, Alt for radius, Ctrl for biome (default: RightBracket).

          []Radius — paint radius in meters, 0. 5–30; also adjustable in-game with Alt + the key (default: 1. 0).

          []PaintGrassBiome — also mark painted spots with the biome below so grass reliably appears even in rocky areas; turn off to only repaint the surface, letting naturally rocky ground stay rocky (default: true).

          []Biome — which biome to stamp on painted ground, used only when PaintGrassBiome is on. Default is standard grassland; other values change how the ground looks and what can grow there. The config file lists every biome the game defines (default: Default).
