Difficulty: Hard Scenario unit size: 2 Battalions US Army vs. USSR June 1985 1) Situation: The Soviets have deployed 1 BTR Motor Rifle Regiment west of Hunfeld to cover their forces advancing on Fulda. This is a key corridor that is critical to the Soviet operation. Capturing the B27 highway would force them to prioritize reopening it, thereby drawing forces away from Fulda and delaying and disrupting the enemy. You are the 2nd Brigade, 3rd Armored Division commander with 1 M1 Abrams battalion and 1 M2 Bradley battalion going into the fight, your 2nd M1 battalion will not be participating in the battle. In support, the division is providing us with 2 artillery batteries, 1 engineer platoon, 3 F-4 Phantom CAS missions, 2 AH-1s, and 1 OH-58. You have received orders to capture the B27 highway. We have air superiority and it is unlikely any Soviet aircraft will be able to get into the area. Intel suggests the enemy has no obstacles set up. 2) Mission: Capture all objectives to exert influence over the B27 highway to prevent the enemy from using it. 3) Execution: Refer to the enemy order of battle provided in the scenario's images to understand the enemy composition. Fight the battle on your terms. Make good use of the combined arms available with your M1s and M2s, attached air assets, and artillery. Prepare for armored counterattacks as the Soviets tend to keep a large reserve.
