The Neukirchen Salient

Difficulty: Hard Scenario unit size: Battalion US Army vs. USSR June 1987 1) Situation: Your battalion has been able to hold the Neukirchen Salient for 2 whole days now. With fresh reinforcements replenishing your losses, you are almost back at full strength. Your battalion has also pulled together routed friendly troops to bolster your defenses. In the meantime, the Soviets have pulled together 2 full motor-rifle battalions to your north and northwest, and intend to attack Neukirchen soon. The Soviets have air superiority and will most likely try to use that to their advantage. 2) Mission: Hold the city of Neukirchen 3) Execution: Set up your forces with overlapping fields of fire and keep a reserve force, as large or as small as you want it. Do not spread yourself too thinly, HQ recommends keeping most of your forces in positions that will mainly defend Neukirchen. The enemy will likely have large amounts of artillery and aircraft, so keep that in mind.
