NTC 1982 - Brown Pass

As a fan of Combat Mission Cold War I wondered if Armored Brigade 2 could represent the same battles but on a grander scale. This is my attempt to merge the first 3 missions of the NTC 1982 - Training In The Desert campaign into one playable scenario. I think the result is quite an interesting and challenging scenario. August 1982 1) Situation: The National Training Center (NTC) opened in 1982. The initial units that participated in the force-on-force training at the NTC came away shocked at the skill and effectiveness of the Opposing Force (OPFOR) and the inadequacy, in some circumstances, of their own equipment and training. You are being thrust into the role of a Company Team commander in one of these early training rotations. Be wary. The enemy is sly and has peer and, in some cases, superior equipment. 2) Mission: This is the first force-on-force exercise of your rotation and it is a Battalion Movement to Contact (MTC). Your Company Team is the Advanced Guard (AG) of the Battalion in the MTC. The OPFOR Forward Security Element (FSE) has been identified by scouts as moving east very fast to the northwest of Brown Pass. OPFOR needs to pass through either Brown Pass or Debnam Pass and it's safe to assume that the FSE will be coming through Brown. Secure Brown Pass. Destroy the FSE and locate the OPFOR main body. Preserve your forces for future operations. 3) Execution: Your leading forces consist of 1st Platoon B Company and the M150 Tank Hunter Section. Following 8 minutes behind is the rest of Company Team B. Two main courses of action are suggested: Conduct a hasty attack by pushing quickly to the north of Brown Pass, thereby gaining room to maneuver and hopefully taking the OPFOR FSE off guard. -- OR -- Conduct a spoiling attack within Brown Pass, hopefully isolating the FSE and destroying it before it can consolidate and deploy. A follow-on force of two tank platoons (M60A1 RISE/Passive) will arrive in 1 hour to help mop up any remnants of the FSE and consoli
