The legendary Hell Swans, also known by their nicknames, Odette and Odile, are a rare example of a Donovian success story. These twin sisters were abandoned at a very old and isolated Siberian orphanage when they were toddlers, and throughout their childhoods, they learned to survive the unforgiving, harsh conditions of 1990s Siberia by always having each other's back, helping each other in every aspect of their lives, as well as protecting their fellow friends and acquaintances from the orphanage from harm's way and the injustices of life, earning themselves much adoration from the other children.

As a way to earn money for their young adult lives, the twins, taking advantage of their petite size and sheer beauty, joined the local ballet academy and quickly became proficient ballerinas, becoming known in their town for their performance of Swan Lake that brought a flame of great joy to an otherwise depressed and neglected Donovian town. Their ambitions for a peaceful life were cut short, however, by the local government's decision to close down their beloved orphanage due to its poor state and high debts. Scrambling to save it, and heeding the call for more aviators in the wake of the Second Chechen War, Odette and Odile joined the Air Force, hoping to make a career and earn enough money to save their orphanage from oblivion, as well as using the leftover cash to improve the lives of each individual child that called it home.

Their moment to shine came in the 2008 Donovia-Gorgas War, where they were scrambled as part of the Donovian offensive. Having been issued an older Su-27UB, with Odette as its pilot and Odile as its weapons system officer, they nevertheless managed to distinguish themselves against the Gorgas Air Force by decimating their backbone of Su-25 attack jets - earning the title of "Ace"
