The Kingdom of Aslan once stood as the crown jewel of the Middle East. It was rich in energy resources, yet diplomatically isolated by the policies of its reigning monarch, King Vashtar.

When time came for the coronation of King Vashtar's successor, a series of disagreements with his son, Prince Abdel the Elder, regarding Aslan's future convinced the King to bypass tradition and favor his brother, Prince Zak the Younger.

This decision plunged Aslan into a political schism. Under the leadership of Abdel, the rebellious elements of Aslan's military war against the now-ruling King Zak and his army of royalists, with the stated goal of dismantling the nation's monarchy and transitioning it into a modern and progressive Republic of Aslan.
