📋 About This Mod

Path Smoothing

What's it actually do?

  • []When a zombie has a direct path to the player, they will move directly toward the player and not stick to the grid.

[]They will still follow the grid when pathing around obstacles (walls, etc.).

  • It's entirely server-side.

    Why?

Because under normal gameplay, zombies regularly do what some of us have dubbed the "voxel sidestep" where, because the zombie must stick to the grid, they will suddenly sidestep to make a diagonal grid movement. This sudden and often hard-to-predict movement regularly causes players to miss shots... Also I think it helps a little bit with immersion to not have to think about aligning yourself with the voxel grid in order to achieve best chances of hitting zombies, or misaligning yourself to be faster than them.

    Installation

    - Disable EAC.

    - Install into Mods folder. If using v1. 1. 3 and later, only needs to be installed on the server side. Clients need no files (in single-player the player is their own server).
