Someone made an .asi version that does not touch the .exe - https://www.nexusmods.com/007firstlight/mods/42 

I'd recommend using that instead.

Description

007 First Light locks rendering to a 16:9 aspect ratio, which causes black bars (pillarboxing) or a stretched/zoomed image on ultrawide and super-ultrawide monitors. This mod unlocks the correct aspect ratio so the game fills your screen properly. It's a simple, automated tool — no hex editor or manual file editing required.

Installation instructions

• []Extract the downloaded archive.[/]

  []Copy UltrawideFix.bat into your game's Retail folder, next to 007FirstLight.exe:

  ...\steamapps\common\007 First Light\Retail\[/]

  []Double-click UltrawideFix.bat. If Windows SmartScreen appears, click More info → Run anyway.[/]

  []Type the number for your resolution, press Enter, and confirm.[/]

  []Launch the game and enjoy the wider view.[/]

To revert: delete the patched 007FirstLight.exe and rename the auto-created 007FirstLight.exe.bak back to 007FirstLight.exe. (Verifying game files on Steam also restores the original.)
