Improved Erlking

The Erlking takes quite a bit of effort from the player to acquire and I was a little disappointed with its defensive department. This mod is for those who wished it was a little more shield capacity.

I've included some tweaks to the engine as well, this is mostly Quality of Life as I don't find it enjoyable to wait 30 seconds for my travel engine to kick in.

Erlking Shield:

Shield Capacity from 158,600 -> 475,800

Shield Recharge from 662 to 1,986

(Takes the same time to fully recharge fully as before)

Nothing crazy, this will not suddenly make you invulnerable and sustained fire will still get you down quickly.

You can use in-game shield modifications at the workbench to improve it further, of course. The ship has excellent speed for its size, so I don't think it needs more. It just won't feel like paper anymore.

As comparison, here are some other ships in-game and their unmodified shield values:

Asgard: 647,952 (Terran MK2)

Shark: 799,685 (Boron MK2)

Tokyo: 485,964 (Terran MK2)

Erlking Engine:

Travel Charge: 30 -> 10

Travel Release: 22. 5 -> 7. 5

These are the times it takes to get up to full travel speed or to slow down from travel speed to fully stop. I found 30 seconds way too long to be fun to pilot yourself, but again didn't want to go too far to keep Terran, Boron and other engines relevant.

There's also a very small buff to how long it takes to get to full speed (it still takes a minute..) and 6 seconds extra boost duration.

I want different values or to remove some:

The mod consists of loose files and is incredibly easy to change. Browse the files and remove or change the lines you don't want. You do you, it's your game.

Completely safe to install and uninstall on an existing save-game. Changes are immediate.
