ET Teladi Shield Upgrades

This mod adds an additional tier of shields for all ship sizes to Teladi and Ministry shipyards.

This includes versions which shield turret groups on large ships and stations.

Both Boron and Terran have these tiers already, and the upgrades are balanced around the same capacity and cost increases of the Terrans. E.g. whatever the relative difference was between the lower tiers is also applied at this level.

As these fit on all commonwealth ships, I didn't feel the need to make them for every single commonwealth race. Teladi trade with everyone and are centrally located, making them very suitable to sell these.

Questions:

Where is the Teladi S Shield Generator Mk3?

-> Already part of Vanilla. If you want a Mk4, see ET IPX Shield Modules.

How is this balanced?

-> Pretty similar to Terran shields, but with the same Teladi characteristics of lower tiers. Terran shields have higher recharge rates, Teladi slightly higher capacity but it's fairly marginal. If you're min-max gaming, Terran are stronger.

Can the AI use these?

-> The AI can use these, but only on 'high loadout ships'. Every ship build by the AI has a 'treshold' value it needs to exceed to allow equipment and these only apply at the highest level.

License restriction?

-> As these are upgrades not previously available, they are restricted to the military equipment license which you get at your first promotion ceremony. It's not that difficult to get relationship with the Teladi so this tends to happen very early on.

Blueprints?

-> You should be able to buy the blueprints and manufacture these yourself, like any other shield modules.

I'd love another player-only tier?

-> You're in luck, I've got a mod for that as well - ET IPX Shield Modules adds another tier on top of these.
