📋 About This Mod

Change the color of the factions

Remember that you need to use the Other filter on the map to see the faction colors. Don't tell me it doesn't work if you haven't done that. ^^

In the Game you can:

Settings > Accessibility Settings > Colorblind Settings

Left column is a list of colors, add a new color here.

Right column search your faction by name. Switch colors here.

But this menu is not easy to use.

The mod includes an HTML file to better visualize the faction colors by comparing them to the original. This allows you to change the faction colors yourself if you don't like my choices. Edit the libraries/colors.xml file (with Notepad++, for example) by choosing your own RGB value for each faction. I won't explain how to do it, it's quite simple to do. Use this site for example: https://www.colorhexa.com/

Just be careful with the glow. Generally, we use a weak glow of 0. 05 for light colors and a strong glow of 0. 2 for dark colors, except for elements we want to highlight (players, enemies, etc.). Glow can radically change the perception of in-game colors.

Note: a is for transparency. Normally for factions we leave it at 255.

1. 01

  • []Added the glow parameter to the HTML file for better visualization, closer to what is actually displayed in-game.

[]Adjusted some colors (especially Teladi) for better differentiation.

I've also included the hexadecimal color values in the HTML file. You don't need this for the mod, unless you want to directly color the faction names, for example. The mod doesn't do that, I left a way of coloring the factions close to the Vanilla way, unlike other color mods. This allows for better updating of the mod in the future. If you ever want to do this, you'll need to add tags in front of the faction names in the t/0001.xml file (or the one for your language) like this:

    <!--Teladi Company-->

    <replace sel="//language[@id='44']/page[@id='20203']/t[@id='603']"><t id="603">\033#FFc2c200#TEL</t></replace>

    - 20203: ID number of the text page that concerns us for the factions

    - 603: ID number that corresponds to the text "TEL" if you want change his color.

    - c2c200: the hexadecimal color (see my HTML file)

    - \033#FF.......# is the tag that allows you to add a color

    - TEL: the text of the Teladi TEL tag

This is the method used by MapColors. So it's more complicated to edit yourself and it's not the same way of doing things as my mod, which is closer to the vanilla game and more universal (works in all languages).
